Our Genesis

LWBC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that began in 1973 as a means of providing an affordable week of camping, fun, fellowship, and Christian growth for young believers.  It began as a one-week effort.  Through the years, as children were encouraged to reach out to their friends and neighbors, it has grown into a combined effort of evangelism, Christian growth, and character development. As the Lord has provided funds, workers, rental facilities—and now, our own camp—we have expanded to six weeks of camp and several retreats in which we minister to over 500 campers with over 140 teen and adult staff members. The workers are volunteers who are trained and encouraged in the use of their spiritual gifts and talents for the building up of the body of Christ.
